Angels are pure spirits created for the purpose of being
servants and messengers of God. They exist on a higher order than
human beings and have no bodies nor do they depend on matter for
their existence and activity. They are separate from saints. Humans
cannot become angels but they must become saints in order to enter
the kingdom of heaven. Angels are immortal. They are vast in number
and yet every one has an individual personality. One of their
greatest duties is to protect, shelter and aid mankind.
